Trace and minor elements in coal and methods of their investigation
Páchová, Helena ; Opluštil, Stanislav (advisor) ; Sýkorová, Ivana (referee)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to provide an overview of the minor and trace elements in coal matter and to characterize their origin, distribution and effect on quality of coal in term of its industrial utilization, including potential environmental impacts. The thesis describes main methods currently used when investigating coal geochemistry and mineralogy. The thesis includes overview of the distribution of these elements in the major coal deposits of the Czech Republic.

Geology of Coal Basins - Czech - Polisch Conference /10./
Ruppenthalová, Lucie
Department of Laboratory Research on Geomaterials of the Institute of Geonics AS CR has organized the Czech - Polish conference about geology of coal basins since 1993. This year the 10th jubilee of conference is held. Traditionally, at the conference meet experts especially from the Czech Republic and Poland, dealing with the development and research of coal deposits, geology of the coal basins, tectonics and coal petrography. However, with new trends in the use of coal, there are also presented the results of research in physical and chemical properties of coal and coal mass, pyrolysis and combustion processes or geosequestration of CO2 into coal seams.

Guide to geological excursion in surroundings of Ostrava
Vašíček, Zdeněk ; Martinec, Petr ; Kožušníková, Alena ; Konečný, Pavel
The paper describes the most interesting geological localities in Ostrava region. Landek is unique outcrop of Carboniferous sediments of Upper Silesian Basin (Namurian A). Zámek Conglomerate outcrop is an important locality of the Poruba Member occurring near Silesian-Ostrava Castle. Exploitation of Pleistocene glacial gravels will be visited in Lake Kališčák near Bohumín. Geological “men made” locality is Ema dump which consists of waste rocks of Ostrava Formation.
Czech - Polish Conference on the Coal Basins Geology /7./
Kožušníková, Alena
The 7th Czech - Polish conference on the coal basins geology represents a traditional meeting of specialists, mainly from CR and Poland. Within the frame of the conference there are presented papers concerned with wide problems - coal basins characterization, sedimentary progression and structural geology of the coal basins, stratigraphy, petrography of rocks and coal, physical and chemical properties of coal and rocks, palynology, creation of digital models of the coal basins.
